Villagers involved a land dispute in Ratanakkiri province met with a local rights group Wednesday, following a protest in front of the house of the prime minister Tuesday.

About 27 families are being moved off land in the provincial capital of Banlung, but they have so far refused to leave 1.86 hectares of land in the remote province.

Representatives met with the rights group Adhoc to seek intervention in the dispute.

Reports of land grabbing in Ratanakkiri have led to several protests in the northeast.

Village representatives said Wednesday they had protested in front of Hun Sen's house, in Takmau district, Kandal province, but found no resolution
