PHNOM PENH, Dec. 7 (AP) - (Kyodo)—Prime Minister Hun Sen said Monday that Chea Sim, president of the ruling Cambodian People's Party, is in hospital in Singapore, but his condition is not considered serious.
Chea Sim, 78, suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure.

He was taken to Calmette hospital in Phnom Penh, a Cambodian state hospital, at 3 a.m. Sunday and flown to Singapore eight hours later on a special Singaporean plane.

Hun Sen said he visited Chea Sim while he was in hospital in Phnom Penh and that his condition in Singapore is almost recovered as he can now get up, stand and eat as usual.

Chea Sim's wife Nhem Soeun, 71, who also suffered from diabetes and hypertension, died in Phnom Penh in July.

Hun Sen, 57, is the youngest leader of the three leaders of the CPP, which has ruled Cambodia since 1979.

Heng Samrin, 75, is president of the National Assembly and concurrently honorable president of the CPP, while Hun Sen is CPP vice president.
