Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Wednesday rebuffed Thai allegations that the recent Thai spy drama is a political ploy.

“It is not a political drama and that it is a fact because Siwirak Chuthipong, a Thai engineer for CATS (Cambodian Air traffic Services) got the order from Kramrob Palawatwichai former first ecretary of Thai embassy to send Thaksin’s flight information to him,” Premier Hun Sen said at scholarship award ceremony at a university in Phnom Penh.

“I have the phone bill of former first Thai embassy contacted with Siwarak and time of their contact,” he said, showing a printed sheet for cameras. “Siwarak already confessed about that contact,” PM Hun Sen said. “We have never eavesdropped for the phone conversation of private life.”

Hun Sen also urged former first Thai secretary to Cambodia to confess who gave him his orders. The first Thai secretary should be dismissed and should explain to the public about the issue, Hun Sen said. “The First Thai secretary should protect his dignity.”

Siwarak, 31, was released from a Phnom Penh prison after he was granted a pardon from Cambodian King Sihamoni late last week after being convicted of affecting national security through copying Thaksin’s flight information at his workplace and sending it to the Thai first secretary.

Hun Sen also rejected Bangkok government claims that the setting free of Siwarak did not violate Cambodian law.
