Cambodia launches A(H1N1) vaccination

PHNOM PENH, March 24 — Cambodia launched Wednesday the vaccination of A(H1N1) donated by World Health Organization (WHO).

At the launch of the vaccination in Phnom Penh, Mam Bunheng, minister of health said that the 300,000 dozes of new vaccine donated by World Health Organization will continue until April 4 in Phnom Penh and other three provinces of Kompong Speu, Kandal and Kompong Chhnang.

Since the outbreak of the deadly disease A(H1N1) in June 2009,566 cases of A(H1N1) were detected to Cambodian people and six deaths were recorded.

Mam Bunheng said the recipients of the A(H1N1) vaccination during the first phase will be pregnant women, children aged 6 to 24 months, patients with chronic lung problems and other vulnerable people. (PNA/Yonhap)
