U.N. secretary-general Ban Ki-moon met with Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and senior officials at Bangkok's Government House on Tuesday… during his four-nation Asia tour.

Tight security kept red-shirt protesters from interrupting the meeting.

They were there to denounce Abhisit's handling of the protest crackdown in May. They are urging more investigation into the handling of the red-shirt protests in which 91 were killed and almost two thousand wounded.

Ban will chair an Asia-Pacific Regional Coordination Mechanism meeting before heading to Cambodia.

Burmese activists also held peaceful demonstrations to call on the U.N. chief to support the release of all political prisoners and end attacks they say are happening against ethnic communities.

Ban will later travel to Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and then on to Vietnam to attend a summit of the Association of South-East Asian nations before heading to China.
