Woman’s corpse found under guesthouse bed
A woman was killed and hidden under a bed in a guesthouse in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district, police said. The victim’s body “was smelly”, and a waiter at the guesthouse followed the scent to the bed that concealed the corpse on Friday. Police said the victim had not been identified, and that they were working on the case. The guesthouse owner said several couples had come to stay at the guesthouse on Wednesday, but police had not determined when the victim was murdered.

Husband confronts wife’s lesbian lover
A man fought with his maid on Friday in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district after he discovered she was having a sexual relationship with his wife. A source revealed that the wife and her maid had been seeing each other, but her husband was unaware because she kept telling him she went “to visit friends or relatives”. When he discovered that they were staying at a guesthouse on Friday night, he went and confronted them outside the establishment. Police took the trio to the station for questioning.

Gang of eight beat up student outside school
A group of eight “spoiled” teenagers beat a 20-year-old student as he left school in Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district on Friday. A witness said the victim was beaten with a belt and a rock, and suffered injuries to his arms, body and head. The teenagers managed to escape because a police officer who was present was not armed. Police said the beating was motivated by revenge because the gang was jealous of the victim.

Motorbike-car collision kills three, injures two
Three people died and two were seriously injured when a motorbike crashed into a car coming in the opposite direction in Pursat’s Bakan district last week. Police said the driver of the motorbike, who was carrying a passenger, was drunk. A witness added that the motorbike was driving without headlights when it hurtled into the car coming the other way, causing the car to flip over. Police impounded both the bike and the car.

Bus hits turning bike; pregnant woman hurtA girl was killed when a bus crashed into a motorbike in Kratie province last week. Police said the bus and motorbike, carrying two people, were travelling in the same direction when the motorbike driver made a sharp left turn without checking behind her. A witness said the passenger was pregnant, and was sent to hospital for treatment. The motorbike and the bus were confiscated by police.
